Medieval copper alloy key for casket, formed from a folded and cut copper alloy sheet, hollow oval-sectioned shank, simple bit comprising two vertical projections separated by broad slot, sub-rectangular bow, obliquely cut lower inside angle, the two outer angles both with a small lobe. Length 22.5mm. Bit 9mm x 5.5mm. 13th - 14th century.
