Copper alloy Roman brooch, Mackreth (2011) Type CD H (Colchester Derivative Hinged). Circular-sectioned enclosed wings decorated with a single angled line, with damaged open terminals, filled with iron corrosion from the axis bar, with slot for (missing) pin. D-sectioned bow with three deep grooves, the outer grooves tapering towards the break. Lower part of brooch and pin missing. Surviving length 21mm. Width of wings 24mm. 1st century AD.
