An incomplete copper-alloy Colchester (one-piece) brooch, dating from the Late Iron Age to Early Roman period.
The wings are of flat section, straight-sided and have a number of vertical grooves on their upper surfaces. A pair of upward-curving prongs at the centre of the head's underside represents the remains of the spring and rearward lug. The bow is of oval section, has a right-angled bend at the top and a casting seam on the underside; it tapers to a pointed foot. The catchplate has a rolled outer side, two sub-circular perforations and, extending parallel to the top edge, a line of rocker-arm grooves.
