Late Post Medieval to Modern copper alloy toy gun. The firing mechanism slot suggests that this was a spring loaded gun & fired rod like missiles akin to matchsticks. The barrel is decorated with raised cross hatching, the forestock with impressed cross hatching, & there is foliated decoration on the shoulder stock. Unusual in that it is made of a copper alloy, albeit a poor quality one, rather than lead or lead alloy. It has been suggested that this puts into the earlier part of the probable dating period. Probably dates to between c1850 & c1939 AD.

The length is 49mm, width 14mm, depth 7mm, and the weight 12.82g.
