An incomplete copper-alloy object, probably a razor of Bronze Age date. It is missing the tang due to old breaks, and has post-depositional damage to both blades, but is otherwise complete. It is leaf-shaped (pointed oval) in form, tapering towards the tip, and with a flattened pointed-oval shaped cross section. Both faces of the object have slight mid ribs that run from tang to tip. At the tang end are the remains of a rectangular tang that is now mostly incomplete due to old breaks. Both faces have a dark green patina that is pitted in places and with some copper-alloy corrosion. It measures 63.95mm in length, 33.83mm in width, 2.86mm in thickness, and 18.15g in weight.
This is a copper-alloy object of probable Bronze Age date. It finds its closest parallels in a number of leaf shaped razors recorded through the PAS (e.g. LEIC-081BB1, CAM-DDC845, YOYRM-4525A3, NARC-E52F71, HAMP-E0D391 or WAW-878535) as well as in published examples (e.g. O'Connor, 1980: p. 91, Fig. 32.10). These suggest a potential Middle to Late Bronze Age date for the current example, perhaps c.1600-800 BC, if not slightly earlier or later.
