Copper alloy possible fender fragment. Large Cast concavo-convex fragment with a scalloped edge and a collared base, springing from a flat plate bearing one drilled hole of diameter 5mm and the edge of a second; a third hole passed through the edge of the curved element. The weight of the piece might suggest an origin in a domestic fireside fitting such as a fender, and its style suggests a Neo-Classical scheme. Twisted, with the flat plate broken across a fixing hole. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.
Length (as found): 69.6mm, Height (as found): 42.4mm, Thickness: 2.3mm, Weight: 35.39gms.
