A copper alloy ring (28mm diameter, 4mm thick) with a projecting broad hook which is about 12mm long and 10.1mm wide. It is possible a Post Medieval curtain hook dating from AD 1500 - 1700, but could also be a more generic strap fitting. It is cast as one piece. The hook curves forwards from the loop. Egan (2005) has a similar example identified as a possible curtain hook, from a context dated c. 1500-1550 (p70, fig59) this and Medieval published examples (in The Medieval Household) all have the hook bending to the side of the loop rather than forwards. Overall, the object is 42.9mm long, 28mm wide and 12.9mm thick. 12.68g.
