Incomplete cast copper alloy vessel mount, possibly from a bucket or larger vessel, dating from the Roman period, that is c. AD43-410. The mount is solid-cast and teardrop-shaped, with a broken loop at the top. It is plain on the reverse, where it was soldered to the vessel, but there are two vertical mouldings on the obverse, possibly indicating folded-up bird wings. In this case, the handle would have been the neck and head of the bird, curving round the (missing) handle. The tail/tip of the tear-drop shape is broken off and missing,
