A complete cast uniface circular post-medieval lead token. Powell Type 2 depicting initials, dating to c. 1550-c. 1800. The token is decorated with the initials in capitals I . R / XII. The reverse is blank.
The token is 20.47mm in diameter, 2.54mm thick and weighs 5.6g. It has some minor circumferential losses or irregularities.
Notes:
Lead tokens with simple designs are very easy to make and continued in use for a long period; those with initials are generally thought to date to the post medieval period (c. 1550-1800).
