A copper-alloy annular brooch of Medieval date. It has an annular frame that is D-shaped in section with flat back and rounded front face, with a slight rectangular pin constriction to one side missing its pin due to old breaks. Evenly spaced around the frame are four oval collets, two of which retain a white paste , but all are missing their settings due to old breaks. Between each of the collets the frame swells slightly, and at the centre of the section opposite the bar is a single transverse grooved pin rest. The entire object measures 28.21mm in diameter, 1.76mm in thickness (at frame, 3.13mm at collets), and 3.67g in weight.
This is an incomplete brooch frame of Medieval date. It finds parallels in examples from Meols (Griffiths et al., 2007: no. 1722) and London (LMMC pl. LXXVIII.1) and is of c.13th-14th century AD date.
