Treasure ref. 2015 T281: a post-medieval gold finger ring dating to the 16th century. The bezel is in the form of a four-leaved flowerhead. Each petal is formed by an oval panel with a raised perimeter. Beneath, the bezel is formed of four convex panels. The bezel contains a rectangular setting, presumably clear glass. The setting is cut, having a narrow facet along all sides. The bezel sits on two narrow shoulders, both of which taper to form the hoop. The exterior of the shoulders are decorated with a panel containing criss-cross motifs.

For similar examples see Oman (1974, pl.26, a, b and pl.27, b for a broadly similar example with enamel). Similar rings recorded on PAS include NMS-0D2960 and LEIC-2722D2.

Dimensions: Height from bottom of hoop to top of bezel = 24mm; diameter of hoop circa 21mm. Hoop (at thinnest) = 1mm x 1.6mm. Bezel = 9 x 6 x 10mm. Weight = 3.58g.
