An incomplete cast copper alloy purse bar dating to the post-medieval period. The purse bar belongs to Ward Perkins Class 1a and dates to the 16th century AD. The bar is missing most of the securing roves (to which the bag would have been sewn) and the swivel loop to suspend the purse from a belt. The purse bar is simply decorated with incised saltires on the arms and on the central box .
