An incomplete copper-alloy pin probably dating to the Early Medieval period and of Middle Anglo-Saxon association, c. AD 720-850. The remains of the pin consists of a globular or pyriform-shaped head, which has been decorated over its entire surface with a ring-and-dot motif; below the head is a small sub-circular collar and the remaining upper portion of the pin shaft itself which is circular in cross-section. The remains of the pin measure 27.39 mm long, 9.2 x 9.5 mm at head, 2.12 mm thick at pin shaft; it weighs 3.96 grams.
A similar example was recently recorded onto the PAS database as record: GLO-9941DE and approved as Middle Saxon by National Advisor Kevin Leahy.
