A Roman copper-alloy mount (for example SUR-9A4B76), or possibly the head from a lock-bolt (for example, SUR-AED102). The mount has a concave circular head, from the centre of which projects a small dome. The shank below is narrowed to the waist, and then expands to the base, thus making it vase-shaped in section. A square apeture is located on the base.
