An incomplete finger ring of probable post-medieval date. The ring has an oval expanded bezel and broad shoulders. Below the shoulders each side is rounded where it terminates. At the rear of the object a thin rectangular band is soldered on to the bezel and would probably have continued past the shouders forming a simple hoop. The band measures 15mm in lenght (which is curved) and 4mm in width. The bezel is decorated within an oval depression and depicts a scene which is too worn to decipher. It does not appear to be a monogram or lettering.

The construction of the ring is unusual with the hoop appearing to be seperate fromt the bezel and soldered together. A parallel for this form has not been found however it is likely to be of post-medieval date, c. 1500-1800. The finger ring is a dull grey in colour, and is warter worn. It is therefore uncertain if the material is silver, pewter or another white metal. Due to the undiagnostic nature of the material this object has not gone forward as a Treasure case.

Dimensions: 20.04mm in length, 11.82mm in width, 3.20mm thick and 1.0g
