A copper alloy disc, possibly a mount or a brooch of probable Early Medieval date (c.400-1100 AD). The disc is flat and circular with a central circular hole (diameter 3.2mm) which is filled with a corroded iron fragment. What is presumably the upper surface appears to have been decorated with an applied layer of silver, two small fragments of which remain while the rest of the surface retains uneven patches of a dark grey residue. The reverse is plain but very worn, as are the edges of the disc. There are no obvious means of attachment apart from the central hole with possible remains of an iron pin or peg, making the identification of mount more likely than brooch, but this is by no means certain.
The disc has a diameter of 28.1mm, is 2.5mm thick and weighs 7.74g.
