A lead alloy Post medieval musket ball dating from AD 1600 - 1800, probably AD 1644. The ball is distorted. It has a very deep groove across one face and metal displaced to the side, probably impact damage. The ball is 11.9mm diameter and at 8.4g it was probably fired from a pistol (Harding (2012) Lead Shot of the English Civil War: a Radical Study.). The ball has a light cream patina.
