Iron blade from an Early Medieval, Anglo-Saxon, whittle tanged knife. The blade has a wedge-shaped section on which the tang is missing. The blade is broken, corroded and damaged but it is possible to place it in Drinkall and Foreman's Type A1, a type that had a long period of use (Drinkall and Foreman, 1998, 279-81).
