A Post Medieval (1600-1800) copper alloy anthropomorphic and openwork mount, with two bent spikes to the reverse. It is incomplete in so far as the tips of the spikes are probably missing.
At the centre of the mount is a forward-facing cherub mask within a circular beaded border. Above and below a pair of fronds extend to either side of the mask, creating a stylised fleur-de-lis where they meet. Above the mask is a smaller forward-facing human mask; below, a semi-circular fan or half-flower with raised, moulded petals radiating from a central element of smaller petals.
The mount measures 30.9mm in length, 26.1mm in width and 11.8mm in max.thickness. The thickness of the mount excluding the bent spikes is c.7mm. The mount weighs 5.90g.
