Iron blade from an Early Medieval, Anglo-Saxon, whittle tanged knife. The blade has a wedge-shaped section on which the tang is centrally placed. The blade appears to have both a curved and a curved cutting edge which allow it to be placed in Drinkall and Foreman's Type A3 a form that had a long period of use. (Drinkall and Foreman, 1998, 280-81, Fig. 136). The blade suffered some damage in the ground and is now exfoliating.
