A copper-alloy double-loop buckle of post-Medieval date.
The frame is sub-rectangular in plan, having inward-bowing top and bottom sides, and outward-bowing right- and left-hand ends. There is a scallop-shaped pin rest at either end, with that at the left-hand end also having a crescentic projection. The top and bottom sides are both decorated by a saddle-like moulding. The tongue-shaped plate is held in place by a central axis bar which is made from iron, its ends contained in opposing holes in the frame. Iron corrosion at the centre of the bar represents the remains of a pin.
