A cast lead alloy early Modern chemical fertiliser bag seal post dating 1881. The left hand image seems to read PHOSPHATFABRIK HOYERMANN HANNOVER. The numerals and letters across the centre probably represent the quantity in the bag. The other face incorporates the firms logo with a monogram for PH. The diameter is 20mm and the weight 17.05g. For a description of the founder of the firm Gerhard Hoyermann see Gerhard Hoyermann, Wikipedia. The following is an extract: "he developed from phosphorus slag a blast furnace plant fertiliser 'basic slag' for agriculture. In 1881 he founded the Peine phosphate factory, which was followed by other factories in Germany, Bohemia and England.'"
