A fragment of a Roman copper-alloy bow brooch (c. AD 43-150).
This fragment is the lower part of the bow and incomplete catch-plate. The bow is convex at the front and flat at the rear. It tapers in width from a transverse break at the top to the base which is thin. The catch-plate is sub-triangular and the curled-over part that secured the pin-tip is missing due to a break. At the front a small portion at the top has vertical grooved decoration.
This brooch has an even green patina.
