An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy buckle frame (c. 1200-c. 1230). The frame is a Meols Type 2.

The pin is missing.

This single-loop frame is 'D'-shaped in cross-section. It is 'D'-shaped in plan and has a slightly expanded edge. It has an offset and narrowed bar which is square in cross-section.

The frame is reddish brown.

Length: 21.4mm; width: 30.6mm; thickness: 5.6mm. Weight: 7.44g.

A similar frame from London has been dated c. 1200-c. 1400 (Egan and Pritchard 1991: 68, fig. 42, refs: 271, 274, 277).
