An incomplete copper alloy Late Iron Age early Roman (AD c.25-c.60) Colchester one-piece brooch, missing its pin, spring and catchplate. Overall, the brooch measures 60mm long and 14mm wide. The head consists of two rectangular wings and the stump of a loop at the top, which would have held the sring in place. The bow is circular in cross-section and tapers in width from 3mm below the wings to a point at the foot. It projects forwards from between the wings and then curves downwards towards the foot.
