An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap end of possible Roman date. It has a triangular plate that is oval in section, tapering to a rounded terminal end that is perhaps incomplete due to old breaks. At the top the plate narrows to an oval sectioned neck before expanding to a split attachment end. This is decorated on the front face with a series of four transverse grooves. The attachment end itself is oval in form, missing its outer edge due to old breaks, and with a central circular rivet hole. This object measures 31.00mm in length, 7.31mm in width, 3.59mm in thickness, and 1.59g in weight.
This is an incomplete copper-alloy strap end. It is of probable Roman date, c.43-410 AD, although a later date range cannot be ruled out entirely.
