A copper-alloy open-top thimble, or sewing ring, of Late Medieval to post-Medieval date.
The diameter of the thimble gradually decreases towards the top. The outer surface bears a right-hand spiral comprising five rows of punched, sub-oval indentations, at the bottom end of which there is a maker's mark of a circle divided into quarters.
