Broken portion of the belly of a flask-shaped ampulla, a smallish example, 27mm broad and 6mm thick, and 26mm high from the base of the vessel to the base of the neck, where it is broken off. Although smaller than Mitchiner's example, the decoration on this is clearly similar to that on his no 403, p.141, where one side shows an open bottle or pouch within a crescentic or sub-circular frame, and with outer zones of chevron ornament alternately barred. The other side shows the base of the 'long arrow' of Walsingham, with its tip in the form of a letter V. This example was found near to another with a seven-petalled rose pattern, and a third with a compass-drawn pattern of six petals. All may have been deposited ritually in a field-blessing context. See counterpart records SF-7B7E74 and SF-7AECF5.
