An incomplete iron horseshoe of probable medieval to post medieval date (c. 1250 - 1550). The horseshoe exhibits similarities to Clark's "Transitional" Type 3 with a broad web (maximum width 35.42mm) and an upset, or thickened heel calkin at the terminus. Only one branch of the horseshoe remains, terminating in an old break at the toe. There are three nail holes visible, all of which retain an iron nail with rectangular shank and tapering chisel tips, all of which terminate in old breaks.
The horseshoe measures 95.99mm in length, is 35.42mm wide, 5.76mm thick and weighs 66.26g.
