A copper alloy buckle of Meols Type C dating from about AD 1350 - 1400. It is rectangular with an expanded outer edge, decorated with a transverse groove at ecah end, and one each side of a grooved pin rest. The bar is thicker in the middle where the pi would have been. Compare page 84 of the Meols Catalogue. The buckle is 16.7mm long, 17.4mm wide and 5mm thick. 3.66g.
