A complete silver seal matrix. The matrix has a trefoil openwork handle with a hexagonally faceted conical stem at the back of the die. The die is oval with a deeply incised design of a sheaf of wheat. The loops of the trefoil element are drop-shaped and there is a small knop nat the top of the upper loop and one either side at the base of the two bottom loops.

This matrix cannot be securely dated to before 1714 (Judy Rudoe, pers. comm. 2015) and therefore it has not been submitted as potential treasure
