A copper alloy medieval (AD c.1200-c.1400) casket or fitting mount. Overall, the mount measures 76.8mm long, 12.3mm wide and 12.7mm thick. It weighs 12.15g. The fitting is symmetrical. At either end is a perforated, roughly circular terminal with a projecting point. Between these terminals is a long flat rectangular plate that projects forward at right angles to the rest of the fitting.
