Post-medieval copper alloy tap, horizontal tube for insertion into a barrel (length 51mm), tapering from an externally faceted vertical housing (external diameter 17mm) for a cylindrical tap with the integral handle cast in the form of a flat-sectioned cockerel with engraved ring-and-dots for eyes (height 52mm). The spout of the tap is a cast highly stylised animal-head with a short cylindrical tube emerging from its mouth (length 21mm). Total length 89mm. Weight 66.67g. Green glass beads have been inserted into the openings at both ends. 16th - 17th century.
