A flint blade of Mesolthic to Early Neolithic date (c. 8000 - 3501BC), possibly a backed blade. The blade has been soft hammer struck off a secondary flake and exhibits a low bulb of percussion with a bulbar scar on the ventral surface. There is a small patch of cortex (<2%) remaining on the dorsal surface near the distal end. The dorsal surface exhbits five negative flake scars from previous flake removal. One mesal edge exhibits very fine short parallel abrupt retouch along its length on the ventral surface, with two patches of short parallel abrupt retouch on the dorsel surface along the same edge. Such deliberate blunting is often seen in backed blades. There appears to be some short, scaled low-angle flaking on the opposite mesal edge.
The flint is a mottled cloudy dark grey in colour with a slight brown tinge along both mesal edges.
