A lead alloy musket ball of post-Medieval date, circa 1644. The ball is misshapen and deformed, with deep tooth marks, probably as a result of animal activity after deposition in the soil. (Compare Harding (2012) Lead Shot of the English Civil War: a Radical Study, plate 31.) The ball has a pale, yellowish-grey patina. It is 13.2mm in diameter and weighs 8.28gm. The weight suggests that this would have been used in a very small pistol. (Harding (2012) Lead Shot of the English Civil War: a Radical Study.)
