Copper alloy decorative spherical or globular-headed stud, probably of Roman date
The cast stud is fragmentary, missing the lower part of the shaft (with a surviving length of 24.0mm and a weight of 13.5g). The head is near-spherical (with a diameter of 14.0mm - 15.3mm and a height of 13.2mm) with flat facets on both the apex and base. No applied decoration is evident on the head. The integral shaft is of sub-rectangular, faceted section with straight and near parallel sides for their surviving length (4.7mm wide and 3.6mm thick with a surviving length of 10.7mm). The surface has a dark-green patina.
