An incomplete cast copper alloy possible 'T' shaped hinged Dolphin or Colchester derivative brooch of first to second century AD date. The remaining part of the brooch consists of the wings and part of the bow as well as part of the pin and its hinge which are still in place though much damaged. The surface shows much corrosion and there does not appear to have been any enamelled or moulded decoration on the bow or wings, except for a single vertical line or groove around the wings which runs parallel to the bow. The bow has a circular cross section, while the wings have a D-shaped section and the reverse which houses the spring mechanis is slightly concave.
