A small Medieval copper alloy bar mount, dating to the period AD 1350-1400. The mount is hemispherical in section, with a central convex lobe and two flat terminal lobes. The terminal lobes are hollowed to the reverse and each has a central rivet hole with copper alloy rivets remaining in situ. The central lobe is decorated with five deep transverse grooves and multiple light vertical grooves to give an appearance of hatching. The mount measures 15.3mm in length, 5.8mm in width, is 4mm thick and weighs 0.67g.
Similar bar mounts are illustrated in Read (2001), in particular no. 154.
