Incomplete very small Roman copper alloy key handle, the stumps of a probably circular bow and part of an integral socket into which the iron key would have been inserted. The socket, rectangular in cross-section externally and probably ovoid internally, is decorated with a transverse rib on both short sides next to bow. Most of one side has been lost along with its distal end. Extant length 27mm, of which the socket amounts to 20mm. External width and thickness of socket 7.7 x 3.9mm. Mid 1st - 4th century.
