A post-medieval (probably 1600-1800) lead alloy musket ball, now rather squashed, presumably by impact, and hemi-spherical in shape. It measures 16.1x18.1x2.6mm and has an estimated original diameter of c.13mm. It weighs9.00g. The ball has a yellowish-grey patina. There is no evidence on the surviving curved surface of a casting seam or sprue. The weight suggests it would have been used with a pistol (Harding (2012) Lead Shot of the English Civil War: a Radical Study).
