An incomplete copper alloy object of probable Late Roman or Early Medieval date, possibly a fragment of a propeller-shaped belt stiffener. The object consists of a central circular disc, broken at one end, with the surviving 'propeller' arm extending from the opposite end. The arm is rectangular in form with a triangular terminal. The object has a thin rectangular cross-section, except for the arm which is thickened. The triangular terminal has an integral rivet which projects from the reverse and the central disc shows traces of a missing integral rivet. Decoration on the object consists of a flower or sunburst design on the disc, transverse ribs on the arm and possibly a field of punched dots within a triangular border on the terminal, though the metal is worn and the decoration is not very clear. The straight edge of the terminal is also possibly notched for decorative purposes.

The object measures 25.82mm in length, 13.97mm in width, is 3.32mm thick and weighs 3.38g. Although it is likely this item is a fragment of a late Roman propeller belt stiffener, no direct parallels could be found for it and the decoration may well be indicative of a later Saxon date.
