Vessel sherd; Samian ware (terra sigillata) body fragment from a hemispherical bowl. Moulded relief decoration on exterior showns a male figure, facing left and kneeling down (in supplication?). His head is missing. The sherd is broken into an unnaturally square form, suggesting possible re-use as a counter/gaming piece. South Gaulish Samian Ware.

AD43-200

The vessel fragment is 38.4mm long, 36mm wide, 7.9mm thick and weighs 13.1g.
