Copper alloy buckle fragment. Cast oval-ended buckle with a steel spindle (lost) and with a slightly expanded outer edge. The spindle housing bears a pair of vertically moulded grooves flanked by a stamped motif of circles and curving lines. The curvature in profile may suggest this was a shoe buckle. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1720-1790.
