An almost complete Medieval copper-alloy zoomorphic mount or stud (1300-1500).

This object is moulded at the front and concave at the rear. The front represents an animal's facing head. At one end it is hatched and probably emulates hair or fur and at the opposite end there is a pointed snout which may be incomplete. The eyes are lentoid shaped and the ears are small and rounded. There is a slightly off-centre circular rivet hole, 1.6mm in diameter.

The mount is a smooth matt green patina at the front and is green and uneven at the rear.

Height: 13.0mm; width: 9.6mm; thickness: 3.3mm. Weight: 1.17g.
