A small cast copper alloy shoe buckle dating from the post-medieval period, c. AD1660-1720. It retains remains of an iron spindle and pin, and incomplete and distorted sheet chape with remains of an iron stud. There are two large moulded cusps on both sides of the frame, a pin notch on the one edge that is not obscured by iron corrosion, and a rectangular projection in the centre of both edges. Close to NMS-B1F6E5 and to FAKL-240798; and especially NMS-907616. Estimated overall length (including bent chape) 31mm. c.1660 - c.1720.
