Medieval copper alloy pin from a buckle with a locking arm. The pin has a solid tube that would have gone over the spindle spanning the buckle frame from which projects a long, flat triangular point, the tip of which is missing to a patinated break. The tube is oval in cross section and the hole thorugh it is also slightly oval, although more circular than the tube. There are various file marks on the pin. The tube is 12.7mm wide and 5.1mm thick and the entire pin including the tub is 15.4 long and weighs 1.99 grams.
SOM-62A024 and SOM-D24A77 on this database are complete examples still attached to their buckles. Margeson (1993:28, no.139) suggests a 14th century date for this form.
