Medieval copper alloy buckle of annular type and of mid-13th to mid-15th century date
The buckle frame is circular (32.5mm external diameter, 24.7mm internal diameter and weighing 10.6g) and is of sub-circular section (3.7mm - 4.3mm diameter). Faceting on the inside of the frame may be the result of wear from a strap. There is no pin restriction on the frame. The pin is complete (with a length of 34.9mm) and has an open loop around the frame, now truncated and is narrowest at the rear of the loop, gradually widening towards the shaft (with a diameter of 9.1mm - 10.8mm and a width of 3.7mm - 4.3mm) and with a moulding at its base. The pin is of rounded, D-shaped section. The surface is corroded with a grey-green patina.
