An incomplete copper alloy Spoon of the Post Medieval Period, dating from AD 1500 - AD 1700.
Around 50% of the spoon remains consisting of part of the bowl and part of the handle. The handle is a rectangular shape and is sub square in section, it curves down towards the bowl of the spoon, making the back of the handle slightly convex. The bowl is bends to the right from the handle. The bowl is an oval shape and is concave at the front. The handle at the back of the spoon flares out as it joins to the bowl, no decoration is present on the spoon.
The spoon measures 65.6 mm in length, and is 27.3 mm wide. It has a thickness of 5.0 mm and weighs 13.7 g.
The spoon is a mid to dark green in colour with an uneven patina. Abrasion caused by movement whilst within the plough soil may have resulted in the loss of some of the original surface detail.
