An incomplete tin alloy spoon bowl, of Post Medieval dating (AD 1750 to AD 1850).

Around 50% of the spoon is present, consisting only of the bowl, with the base of the handle or stem present. The rest of the handle is missing.

The spoon bowl is oval in shape, and concave. A square hole is present in the centre of the bowl, with a curved crack running upwards from a corner of the hole.The stem or handle joins onto the bowl in a sub circular drop shape.

It measures 47.2 mm in length, 22.7 mm wide and 5.6 mm thick. It weighs 4.6 g.

The bowl spoon is a mid grey colour, with an even surface patina.

A couple of similar spoon bowls have been recorded on the PAS database, including:CORN-CDD788 andNLM-728FF6. These are considered to be Post Medieval in dating (AD 1750 to AD 1850).
