A fragment of a Roman Nene Valley Colour Coated (NVCC)ware vessel, dating to the late 3rd-4th century. This fragment is from the body of the vessel. It is composed of a light grey clay with a dark brown slip covering it. There are traces of two mouldedlines with a series of pellets running through the middle on the outer surface. The vessel was wheel thrown.

Due to the size of the fragment it is difficult to determine the type of vessel it comes from. However, the decoration would suggest that it was from a plainer variety of NVCC vessel, which became abundant in the late 3rd century.
